I caught these clouds out my sunroof on the drive home yesterday and wondered how the BlackBerry would do in terms of the detail.

First, thanks Twitter friend, this made me laugh:
I just realized I wasn’t following you on twitter and missed some messages from you. I’M NOT A JERK :)
Second, why is it that my favorite Queer Eye guy (Kyan) is the only one without a show? But looking forward to Ted Allen’s new show Food Detectives.
Speaking [...]
Not Friday but…, originally uploaded by idblog.
I was setting up the BlackBerry for Twitter and had to snap a pic. Love the face!
My New York trip was clearly an outlier … I have not really gotten used to the idea that I am carrying a new BlackBerry that enables me to moblog. And even when I remember I’m carrying it, I haven’t yet decided the ethics of using a work device (even though it comes with an [...]
Rainbow over DC, originally uploaded by idblog.
I wasn’t going to post this, but then I saw that both Mike and Gina posted their rainbow pics and wanted to make it a trifecta!
FDR Library, originally uploaded by idblog.
My knee wasn’t up to the quarter-mile walk to FDR’s house (Springwood), so I made due tooling around the supporting buildings, including this, the FDR Library, which (according to them) is the first of the presidential libraries.

The wide angle of the BB curve camera made this shot hard to get, but this is downhill from the main building and terrace at CIA in Hyde Park. Their campus is amazing. And when you add in the restaurants you can sample, this is a great stop [...]
Inn on the Falls, originally uploaded by idblog.
The back terrace of the B&B I stayed at last nite. The room is far more modest than at the Tarrytown House, tho the rates are similar. (Resending for the bazillionth time.)
Vassar, originally uploaded by idblog.
I think this is a dorm building. Nice campus tho.
Cold Spring, NY, originally uploaded by idblog.
This is a terrific waterfront area on the Hudson, complete with charming village. Would be very peaceful, save for the thirty or so kids doing some kind of summer camp right here.
Philipsburg Manor, originally uploaded by idblog.
A Dutch period farm and trade center where the workers do period dress and customs a la Williamsburg.
Lyndhurst, originally uploaded by idblog.
Not owned by the Roosevelts, Rockefellers or Vanderbilts, but still an amazing grand house on the Hudson.
Tarrytown House, originally uploaded by idblog.
View out the back of the lobby. I can see the Hudson from the hallway, but not from my room. But the price point is much better than the Castle. (Resending)
Castle on the Hudson entrance, originally uploaded by idblog.
Here’s where I’m not staying, as the cheapest rate was over $400 if I recall. But it’s on the top of a hill and you can see it coming into Tarrytown.
Clarendon fountain, originally uploaded by idblog.
Got a few minutes until the Apple store opens, so just hanging out listening to classical radio and the fountain. Nice mix.

If I’ve done this right, this lovely pic of my cat will show up both on Flickr and my blog!
From Politico:
Former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan writes in a surprisingly scathing memoir to be published next week that President Bush “veered terribly off course,” was not “open and forthright on Iraq,” and took a “permanent campaign approach” to governing at the expense of candor and competence.
As Dan Abrams just said on MSNBC, seems [...]
It took awhile (damn Firefox kept crashing…what’s that about?), but I now have some great bones for my trip up the Hudson River Valley.
Day 1: Travel plus visits to Sunnyside and Kykuit. Lodging at Tarrytown House Estate.
Day 2: Visits to Cold Spring and Boscobel. Lodging at Inn At the Falls.
Day 3: Visits to FDR’s place, [...]
I’ve been meaning to get out and get some pics of the irises in the neighborhood, as they’ve been really at their peak recently. Today, it looked like both the weather and my whacked knee (still not sure what I did) would cooperate, and so I headed off to Bon Air Park, a favorite local [...]
I don’t know exactly when I noticed that my cat liked watching animal video shows, but now that I have, I turn them on occasionally. Fun for him and me :).
Phew. I had thought I had plenty of time to get a house for Thanksgiving for this year’s “Meet in the Middle” in Deep Creek Lake. Not!
If you’re not familiar with it, Deep Creek is great … it’s in western Maryland, half-way between DC (where my sister and I live) and Pittsburgh, where the rest [...]
Yikes, I’d been putting off upgrading my blog platform, and it finally came back to bite me. It looks like the only casualty was an inability to upload images (I hope). But thanks to the nice support folks at Dreamhost, they quickly got me unstuck, and I’ve finally updated to the latest version.
Now all I [...]
My grandmother taught me to crochet, and I did quite a bit of it when I was younger.
Now I do it once at year, as part of my company’s annual day of service (too hard to do it at home…it drives the cats crazy!).
These squares will be combined with those of my fellow crocheters and [...]
is following ICHCheezburger. This recent one made me laugh out loud:
