What am I missing?
Posted November 12, 2006 at 11:38 amFor the life of me, I cannot bring myself to get excited about the prospect of Hilary in 2008. And for a lefty, pinko secular progressive (Bill O says that like it’s a bad thing) like myself, that troubles me.
Here’s my problem. There are now 300 million people in the US. And you mean to tell me that the best Democratic candidate for President is the woman who is married to the one before last?
How can that be?
See, ever since she ran for Senate in New York, I’ve felt she was a bit of a carpetbagger. She may well have been smarter than her husband, but after life in the South and the White House, how is she anything other than W? Someone with a pretty thin resume and a lot of privilege and connections. And I think she’s doing the McCain dance…pandering to whatever will seem to advance her candidacy.
Now, the people I had been getting excited about (Warner, Feingold) are dropping out. Please God, someone convince Gore to throw his hat back in. Or at least explain why I should be excited about Hilary.

I rarely vote democrat, but I’m shocked that they can’t seem to find anyone better that Hillary. You’d think that random choice would find someone less objectionable, and maybe better qualified.
Personally, I think Gore is as bad a choice as Hillary. There are some Democratic candidates I’d vote for, but neither Gore nor Hillary are among them.
